About Jessie

Hi! My name is Jessie Garner Cookson.  I have been a lifeguard, swim instructor and swim enthusiast for over 20 years.  I was originally born and raised in Fuquay-Varina but have found myself traveling/living in various countries, such as Hungary, Ukraine and most recently, Costa Rica.  For years I was referred to as the fish of the family and have been swimming since the age of 2!  I swam competitively for Campbell University while attending college and began my journey in the pool industry at the age of 14.  I have done just about everything pool related, including lifeguarding, being a pool manager, swim lesson instructor and facility manager, certified pool operator for Wake County and a pool maintenance tech.  When I was a pool manager, I had the opportunity to save a child's life in a near drowning incident -- it pushed me to dedicate my time and energy into writing my entire program and ensuring that I help children and adults to conquer their fear of water and to establish a safe love for the water.
